解説・定義 「現在人口」（de facto population：居住者か非居住者かを問わず，調査時現在その地域に存在する人数）でとらえることになっているが、「常住人口」（de jure population：その地域に通常居住している人数）でとらえている場合には注で示した。なお，現在人口・常住人口いずれの場合にも，外国の軍人・外交官及びその家族を除いている国（地域）が多い。 The total population of a country may comprise either all usual residents of the country (de jure population) or all persons present in the country (de facto population) at the time of the census. For purposes of international comparisons, the de facto definition is recommended. Beim klassischen Zensus unterscheidet man zwei Arten von Bevölkerungen: die ortsanwesende Bevölkerung, auch de facto-Bevölkerung genannt, und die Wohn- oder de jure-Bevölkerung. Die de jure-Bevölkerung umfaßt all die Menschen, die zum Zeitpunkt der Erhebung ihren Wohnsitz in den Grenzen eines bestimmten Gebiets haben, selbst wenn sie zum Zensuszeitpunkt vorübergehend abwesend sind. Die de facto-Bevölkerung schließt die vorübergehend anwesenden Personen ein, aber die vorübergehend Abwesenden aus (cf. Carroll 1975: 494 f., Höhn et al. 1987: 53, § 310). |
